Maggie Walker Community Art Project Installation

Join us for a special installation of a community art project honoring Maggie Walker, created with renowned artist, Austin “Auz” Miles, in partnership with the Black History Museum & Cultural Center of Virginia at Richmond’s 2nd Street Festival in 2024!
Find us in the Grandis Hallway of our Downtown Museum location on Sunday, February 9 at 1 pm for a short program. Austin Miles will share more about her process to create the art piece and the Black History Museum & Cultural Center of Virginia will share their expertise on the life of Maggie Walker.
Families are then invited to create an image using a similar process with tissue paper. We hope to see you there to celebrate and honor local art and history!
