CultureFest with Cultural Encounters – Downtown

Friday October 4 | 3:30 pm-4:30 pm

Afro-Brazilian (1)

Join us for CultureFest, where each month we celebrate a new culture with exciting activities!

What to expect

We’ll introduce kids to the dynamic art of capoeira Angola showcasing Afro-Brazilian culture. Their show will feature captivating capoeira movements, blending dance and martial arts. After the performance, children will have the chance to learn about traditional capoeira instruments and sing a lively song. They’ll also share a delicious vegetarian dish called feijoada, a flavorful black bean stew served with rice and cooked with dende (palm oil). To top it off, kids can express their creativity by coloring pictures of children practicing capoeira. It’s a fun and educational way to explore a different culture!
