Fabulous Flowers for Mother’s Day

Try making these exciting and unique handmade paper flowers! These are fun for kids and adults alike. Give them out to the ones who make you happy! They will be sure to put a smile on your loved ones’ faces!

Dixie Cup Daisy

Materials:

Dixie cup

Pompom balls

Straw or pipe cleaner

Scissors

Tape

Glue

Other embellishments (markers, sequins, glitter, etc)

1. Cut vertical lines down the sides of your Dixie cup.
2. Fan flaps out, revealing a Daisy flower shape.
3. Add embellishments and color!
4. Tape straw or pipe cleaner to the back.

Happy Hyacinth Flowers

Materials:

½ sheet construction paper

Pencil

Ruler

Straw or pipe cleaner

Scissors

Tape

Glue

1. Fold construction paper in half (hamburger style).
2. On opposite end of fold-side, draw a line parallel to the edge, about ½ inch out.
3. On fold-side, cut lines up to the drawn pencil line.
4. Open up paper, and flip over.
5. To the ½ inch uncut area at the edge, add a strip of glue. Fold over other ½ inch edge to meet the glued side. Press until sealed.
6. Tape one end to the straw. Then twist around the straw.
7. Tape around when finished twisting to reinforce.
