Guest Services Manager – Downtown

The Children’s Museum is searching for a Guest Services Manager to assist in our non-profit Museum mission to inspire growth in all children by engaging families in learning through play. This is a full time position with benefits located at our Downtown Richmond location.

Our Guest Services Managers play an important role in helping to create an environment of learning through play while engaging caregivers in our locations. Major responsibilities include creating a safe and welcoming setting that encourages exploration, creativity and hands-on learning for all guests. Guest Services Managers help to prepare the museum for guests on a daily basis and mentor and manage a team of Play Guides.

Responsibilities:

The Guest Services Managers help to inspire and motivate Play Guides to ensure the museum provides every guest an exceptional Museum experience. This position ensures the Museum’s rules, safety standards and sanitation requirements are followed and responds to and documents any accidents. The Guest Services Managers help field and respond to customer service inquires and issues on an immediate basis with exemplary customer service and coordinate the implementation of all cash accounting procedures, reconciliation and daily receipts in accordance with Finance guidelines. These positions train, motivate, and manage a staff of part time Play Guides.

Candidates should be able to be flexible and patient and exhibit strong collaboration skills. Candidates should be able to solve complex problems and demonstrate strong leadership skills. Candidates should have a passion for the Museum’s mission.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Candidates should have 1 – 2 years’ management experience in a retail or similar customer-facing role and experience running a cash register and managing a team. Candidates should have experience in and love of working with young children. Candidates should be able to pass a background check and be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, and lift up to 35 lbs. This position requires weekend and occasional evening availability.

Compensation:

$18-20 per hour, 40 hours per week
